Current Research Studies Recruiting Participants
Risk Factors For Postpartum Depression & Postpartum Psychosis - Women who have a history of an illness like bipolar disorder have higher chances to have an episode of postpartum depression or psychosis. This study aims to find out whether a genetic variation might contribute to this higher chance - we are recruiting participants!

Bipolar Moms & Their Children - Researchers at the University of British Columbia and BC Children’s Hospital are conducting a study to look at cognitive development (thinking processes and memory) and mood of children of mothers with a diagnosis of bipolar depression. More information...

Keeping Patients’ Spirits in Bloom
The Mood Disorders Association of BC is Brightening The Day for patients in the psychiatric wards of Lower Mainland hospitals by delivering fresh, flowering plants every 2 weeks.

Balloons, flowers and get-well wishes evident throughout hospital wards are less likely to be found in psychiatric wards where patients are especially in need of encouragement and hope.

If you know of an individual or business who would be interested in assisting our Brightening The Day program by making a contribution please have them contact MDA at:
