Volunteering at the MDABC


Volunteers are an essential part of the MDABC and they contribute in a variety of ways. We continue to strive to offer meaningful and productive opportunities to our volunteers. We will provide training and support to get you started, and once as we get to know you we will provide written and verbal references to future employers. When you are ready to apply please complete the volunteer application form (found on this page) indicating which volunteer position you are interested in. Please note that you must be cleared to work with children and vulnerable adults. A criminal record check will also be done at MDABC’s expense. 


Free Meeting Space Needed by the Mood Disorders Association of BC

The Mood Disorders Association of BC, a leader in education, diagnosis, treatment and support for those with mood disorders in the province of BC, is seeking free meeting space to hold weekly or bi weekly mood support meetings. The Mood Disorders Association of BC has provided self-help support groups since 1982 and is looking to expand its support group network. We are looking for rooms with seating for up to 20 people, no kitchen/amenities are necessary however accessibility to transit and/or parking is required. If you have such meeting space available please contact Catherine St. Denis at mdamgr@lookoutsociety.ca.


Peer Support Group Facilitators and Co-facilitators

The Mood Disorders Association of BC is looking for facilitators and co-facilitators for MDABC support groups. You will need to be an excellent listener and able to support people wherever they are in their recovery. Facilitator training will be provided either in the MDABC office or via Skype and you will receive a manual as well as good support in your role. If you are interested, have experienced a mental illness, have solid recovery under your belt and are able to commit to at least one year then please contact contact Catherine St. Denis at mdamgr@lookoutsociety.ca.

  • Tri-cities Adult Support Group - Fridays 7pm to 9pm, 2850 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam
