As of Wednesday January 3rd, our Psychiatric clinic will be operating at #480-789 West Pender street (at Howe street). Please note that there is no change to the phone number.

Please note that our Psychiatric clinic and Wellness and Counselling center will be closed for the holidays and preparation of the move from:

Friday December 22nd - Tuesday January 2nd

*please note however that there will be no interruption of rTMS treatments on December 22nd.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Lookout Housing & Health Society's MDABC office at #480-789 West Pender on Wednesday January 3rd, 2018

The Mood Disorders Association of BC (MDABC), houses a psychiatric clinic where you can receive a prompt (typically less than six weeks) psychiatric assessment. Please note that we are not currently accepting any new patient referrals.

The Clinic also offers a variety of follow-up treatment programs if this is of interest to you.  Current treatment programs include:

i) medication treatment and monitoring in our group medical visits;

ii) both group and individual psychological (psychotherapy) treatment through our Wellness Centre;

iii) repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS);

iv) Food and Mood and Pain treatment program (using dietary changes to treat depression or chronic pain);

v) in conjunction with the Greater Vancouver YMCA, our Jumpstep program (exercise as a treatment for chronic depression).

More information about all of these programs is present on this website, as are brief bios of all of our medical staff.

Email communication with your psychiatrist is NO LONGER available The decision to discontinue patient email communication with MDA psychiatrists was made due to a growing number of safety concerns, particularly from patients in crisis, using email as a way of reaching out. There are times when we are unable to respond to these emails in a timely manner. Patient safety is our top priority at MDABC!

Email communication cannot replicate the face to face interaction with your psychiatrist and limits your psychiatrist from providing a detailed assessment.

We encourage our patients to follow up by booking into a Group Medical Visit and maintaining regular follow up with their family physician.

If you have general inquiries or questions regarding appointments and follow up, you can email us at where our front desk staff will respond to you within 24 hours, during our clinic hours. Or you can call 604-873-0103 option 1.

Clinic Hours:

Monday to Friday -  9:00am-5:00pm

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please go to your nearest hospital emergency room or call 911. To reach the crisis line, please call 1-866-661-3311.

We appreciate your support in making patient care a priority within our clinic.
