Rapid Access Psychiatric Clinic

The Mood Disorders Association of BC (MDA of BC), in conjunction with Drs. Ron Remick, Chris Gorman, Judy Allen, and Paul Waraich operate a weekly rapid access psychiatric clinic for MDABC members. Patients are seen for an initial individual assessment then follow up is offered in psychoeducational group sessions taking place: every Tuesday from 12:15pm - 1:15pm; every Wednesday from 11:00am - 12:00 noon and 1:30pm - 2:30pm; every Thursday from 11:00am to 12:00 noon.

The psychoeducation groups are open to all clinic users. To find out which group your clinician is facilitating, please call MDA of BC for information. There is no registration or fee for these groups. Please note these are not our peer-led support groups.  

Physicians may refer patients to our clinic using their own referral form or a generic fax to 604.873.3095. Once a referral is received in our office, patients will be contacted to book an individual appointment. No patients will be seen without a referral and a pre-booked appointment. Referrals should include:

• all patient information (name, address, birthdate, phone number, PHN)
• reason for referral
• current medications  
• current concerns and any discharge notes
• referring doctor name, fax number and billing information

*Please ensure all patient and physician information is printed clearly on the referral.   

If patients do not have a current physician, they are instructed to attend First Care Medical Centre at 2590 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, to request a referral.
