The society promotes the dignity and well-being of people with mental health issues and provides supported housing, advocacy and community resources. www.mpasociety.org DERA (Downtown Eastside Residents Association) Formed in 1973, the overall objective of DERA’s Advocacy Service is to provide assistance with residential tenancy rights, welfare rights, and seniors rights. These areas form our focus as they provide the most common problems for our residents. The thrust of Advocacy is threefold: legal aid, legal education, and legal reform.
